Rossini: The Cat's Meow

Here is sneak preview of the lyrics from Rossini's "Cat Duet":  "Meow..."  "Meow!"  "Meow..."  "Meow!!"  "Meow..."

You can hear it for yourself at Hunterdon Symphony's "Animal Antics" concert on February 9, with vocal soloists, Amalia Crevani and Lauren Medina.

Amalia Crevani is an eighth grader at Holland Township Middle School, where she performs regularly as solo vocalist, and as a member of the Chorale and Chorus.  She also plays the trumpet in the Jazz and Concert Bands.  Currently a student of Alejandra Garrido, she has been studying voice for four years, has been a member of the New Jersey State Honor Choir for two years, and performs with "The Opera Project."  For the past three seasons she has performed as the National Anthem singer for Sky Blue, the women's professional soccer team.   Her theater experience includes two summers with Phillipsburg Summer Youth Theater Performing Arts Camp in the roles of Miss Dorothy in "Thoroughly Modern Millie" and Cinderella in "Into the Woods".  Amalia loves singing in Italian, a language in which she is fluent.

Lauren Medina is an eighth grader at Clinton Township Middle School, where she is currently playing the role of Veruca Salt in CTMS's preduction of Willie Wonka Jr. on March 7-9.  She has been a member of the New Jersey State Honor Choir for four years, and has performed solos in their showcases.  She performs for "The Opera Project" events, and has been in a number of musicals for North Hunterdon High School and Clinton Area Stage Troop since she was ten.  She is also a student of Alejandra Garrido.

The concert takes place on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 3:00 pm at Clinton Township Middle School, 34 Grayrock Road, Clinton, NJ.

Tickets are $5 each, and can be purchased at:  Clinton Book Shop, Califon Book Shop, Teaberry's (Flemington), Minette's Candies (Frenchtown), and This and That on the Corner (Milford).
